Interesting article on energy choices and constraints

Brian McInnes 18 July 2004

There's an interesting article in the current issue of Physics Today on energy choices and constraints:

http://www.physicstoday.org/vol-57/iss-7/p47.html

If any of you can find the time to browse through this article you would find it enlightening. It makes a good companion piece to the Hansen paper in March 2004 Scientific American that Bob Carr called to our attention.

The reference Arjen Hoekstra gave us to the water site is also very useful. If the wars of the first part of this Century are fought over oil, the wars of the second half will be over water. One aspect of this problem that should give rise to concern is the part being played by the World Bank and the IMF. The article at

gives insight into this.
