LEAN Seminar: the Murray Darling in Crisis. 14 July, 6-8pm

Sean Kidney 05 July 2005

Thursday 14th July, 6-8pm | Level 7, CPSU Building, 191-199 Thomas St, Haymarket - 3 minute walk from Central Station

Guest Speakers:

Professor Richard Kingsford
Richard is one of Australia's leading scientific experts on inland rivers and wetlands

Mr Eric Fisher
Eric's family have farmed in the Macquarie Marshes for nearly 100 years

Ms Cate Faerman
Director of the Conservation Council of NSW

West of the Divide, our wetlands and rivers are "hotspots" of biodiversity. Frogs, owls, possums, fish and waterbirds live and breed in these oases. And they provide valuable areas of pasture for cattle farming. But years of bad decisions have left our waterways critically short of water, and the communities and animals that depend on them are suffering.

All party members are welcome.
Please RSVP to Kenny McAllister (leannsw@bigpond.net.au) or Kristina Keneally MP (02 9314 2339).

There is no charge for this event.
