Building LEAN South Australia

We'd like to invite you to a chat about LEAN in South Australia over drinks/coffee.

LEAN nationally has agreed that organising for the environment within the ALP is best done with a state focus. Currently LEAN in South Australia is not functioning. We are keen to gather people interested in rebuilding a movement of Labor people in South Australia pushing for ever stronger environmental commitment and policy from our party.

In other states we have been running a very popular campaign calling on the Federal ALP to lead the country on climate action by adopting credible targets for both renewable energy and pollution reduction. You can check out here, if you haven't already heard of it. In NSW over 100 branches and 17 FECs have already passed our motion, with VIC, QLD, WA and Tas all participating too, bringing total numbers to over 200 branches nationally. We are hoping to help some of you form LEAN SA and get set up to run the campaign, so South Australian members also get a chance to be involved in this historic grassroots campaign.

*We need folks ready to step up and be part of making LEAN SA happen again. Whatever you can offer in terms of time and commitment will be much appreciated. Please join us on June 11 to talk through our options.*

We would welcome your energy, your passion and your ideas so please do come along and join in. Let us know if you think you can make it, and do bring along anyone that you feel would make a great contribution.
