We did it! In July 2015, the Federal Labor Party leadership listened to the concerns of Labor members across the country and endorsed LEAN's call to adopt a 50% renewable energy goal by 2030 and credible pollution reduction targets.
After 9 months of campaigning, thousands of conversations with key decision makers and support from more than 370 branches LEAN won its campaign to put climate change back in the heart of Labor's policy vision.
In late July 2015, the National Conference of the Australian Labor Party adopted LEANs proposal into its platform which will deliver 50% renewable energy and strong pollution reduction by 2030 creating more jobs, more renewables and less pollution. You can read the progress of the amendments here.
What's more, Labor leader Bill Shorten, personally championed our cause by both moving a resolution and supporting LEAN's cause in his speech to Conference.
